Note: Before use, carefully read this manual, operating instructions, and safety and preventative information.

In order to avoid a possible risk to the health of the people by the possible failure of isolation of the equipment, the following points must be taken into account when the installation is carried out:

For the protection of persons against accidental contact:

The equipment will have the earthing system according to safety regulations.

The equipment will have its own protection, differential switch dimensioned to the needs of the installation, before any derivation, as well as its magnetothermal for any short circuit or excess consumption that can be produced in the equipment itself.

Perform compliance with the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT) and Prevention of Occupational Hazards (PRL) according to its standards.

Measures to avoid indirect contacts:

Perform preventive maintenance of equipment.
Check grounding.

Warnings regarding service procedures and equipment handling.

Direct contact:

In the event of any negligence that may occur in the handling of the equipment, the following precautions must be taken:

It is very important that the commissioning or manipulation of the equipment is carried out by specialized personnel.
Before opening the electrical panel, make sure that the main switch is off.
There is grounding of the equipment.
Have sufficient insulation or coating of active parts.
Maintain safe distances with respect to other possible electrical risks of the installation in the case of installations inside an electrical cabinet.
Maintain a safe place of work, without the interposition of obstacles or other objects that can put at risk the health of the people.
Use personal protective equipment in case of having to handle the equipment.

Other:

The equipment is designed to modify the inductive load of the entire installation regardless of the location of the loads in the installation.

The device will be connected to a differential switch (*).

The unit is enclosed in an IP-44 insulated housing.

Do not install outdoors.

During installation, connections must be secured to prevent bad contacts and wiring errors.

The wall mounting must be firm to prevent it from moving.

It is convenient to place it in an area away from sources of flammable gas, in a dry place and protected from the rays of the sun.

The installation must be done in a well ventilated place, and if it is inside a cabinet, it must have a good ventilation, having to have the cooling system in perfect condition.

Do not cover the equipment.

WARNING: The handling of the savings equipment by unauthorized maintenance or technical personnel will result in the total loss of the product warranty.

Installation

Introduction

This chapter contains procedures for installation before first use. This manual is intended to guide the installation technician on the assembly of energy saving equipment GREEN CORPORATE ENERGY, however and due to the different types of existing installations, the technician himself will be able to apply his professional criterion, always with support and authorization of the technical department of Green Corporate Energy.

Security Reminders

Make sure that the main switch on the electrical panel where the energy saver is to be connected is open.
To ensure good performance and prevent device failure, do not expose the system to extreme humidity, such as direct exposure to rain. Such exposure may cause damage to the equipment and abnormal operation.
It is necessary that the installation is carried out by a professional or technician authorized and qualified, and always complying with the rules of prevention of occupational risks (PRL) and the regulation of low voltage (REBT) with respect to the installation to be made.
Do not use any item or part of the equipment (cables, mechanisms, …) that appear damaged.
Use elements for the installation indicated in this manual. Performing an installation with items not indicated may cause adverse results in the performance of the equipment.

Unpacking and inspection

The energy saver is shipped in a single carton. Examine carton thoroughly and thoroughly for evidence of damage. Contact Green Corporate Energy Technical Services immediately if the box is damaged. In case of possible damage, do not return the energy saver before contacting Green Corporate Energy.

Once the equipment is received, it is convenient to check:

  • The equipment is without any type of damage due to the transport of the package.
  • The equipment corresponds to the characteristics (power, voltage, …) of the purchase request.
  • The equipment has each of the parts indicated in this manual.

List of components

Together with the Energy Saver, the materials necessary for a standard installation will be provided, dimensioned as indicated, and all the materials which, together with the saving equipment to be assembled, will be clearly reflected in the installation.

In addition to the corresponding accessory material (surface panel, registration box, wire, tips, etc.), the protections to be used for each model of equipment are indicated, this information being of vital importance for its subsequent assembly.

In any case, it is recommended that in case of a specific need for material, it should be communicated to Green Corporate Energy in order to coordinate the sending of this extraordinary material or, in the case of detecting this lack of material during the realization of an installation, is acquired by the company’s own account with approval by the technical department of Green Corporate Energy. The full payment of this material will be made together with the liquidation of the installation.

Network connection

TP equipment must be connected to a suitable power source. In case the integrity of the AC power supply is in doubt, check the mains before installation.

Characteristics of the installation depending on whether the electrical distribution system is TT or TN Grounding system of the equipment according to safety regulations:

The scope of the ground fault and the consequences of touching exposed live parts are specifically related to the neutral status of the power system and the types of grounding of the system.
Therefore, in order to select the appropriate device for protection against earth faults, it is necessary to know the distribution system of the installation. The international standard IEC 60364-3 classifies electrical systems using a combination of two letters.
The first letter indicates the connection of the power system to the earth:

  • T:Direct ground connection of a point, usually the neutral, on AC systems.

The second letter indicates the relationship between the exposed conductive parts of the installation and ground:

  • T: direct electrical connection between exposed conductive parts and ground;
  • N: direct electrical connection between the exposed conductive parts and the grounded point of the supply system.

 

TT System 

The TT System, neutral and exposed conductive parts are connected to electrically independent ground electrodes (Figure 1); therefore, the earth fault current returns to the feed node through the ground (figure 2).

In this type of electrical installations, the neutral is usually distributed and its function is to make the pass-through voltage (eg 230V) be for the supply of single-phase loads of civil installations.

TN System

In TN systems, the neutral is grounded directly, while the exposed conductive parts are connected to the same neutral ground.
TN electrical systems can be divided into three types depending on whether the neutral and the protective conductors are separated or not:

TN-S: the neutral conductor N and the protective conductor PE are separated:

TN-C: The protective conductor and neutral are combined in a single conductor, called PEN:

TN-C-S: the protective conductor and the neutral are partially combined in a single PEN conductor and partially separated PE + N:

In TN systems, the earth fault current returns to the supply node through a direct metal connection (PE or PEN conductor) without practically affecting the earth electrode:

Conclusions:

TT distribution system

Main application for domestic installation and similar. Small industries with BT power supply.

Typical value of fault currents: 10 – 100 A

Remarks: TT distribution systems are used where it is impossible to guarantee the distribution of the protective conductor (PE), and when it is advisable to let the user take care of the protection against indirect contacts.

TN Distribution System

Main application for industrial and large installations with MT power supply.
Typical value of fault currents: 10 – 100 A
Observations: TN distribution systems are the systems through which power is distributed to users who have their own transforming substation; in these cases, the protective conductor can be easily secured.

Schematic and installation

Before connecting to the power supply, make a safety check of the equipment:

  • Inspect the equipment for mechanical and functional damage or deterioration.
  • Inspect the relevant safety labels for readability. Contact Green Corporate Energy for service.

The equipment has internally connected approximately 100 cm of conductor, in some cases, insufficient to reach the electrical panel and therefore it will be necessary to use an intermediate register between this and the equipment saving. All interconductor connections shall be made in a register box or within the electrical panel itself, not directly inside the pipe or conduit, and the conductors to be used shall always be free of halogen. The connections between conductors will be made by means of connection wiring boards.

The protective tube must be perfectly dimensioned for the path of the conductors. It will be totally inserted inside the registration boxes or boxes, using the openings destined for it or practicing new openings by means of the appropriate crown, thus realizing, a totally sealed installation.

The protections, differential and magnetothermal, will be installed if possible in the existing frame in the installation, as long as there is room for it. If this is not possible, they will be installed in the surface panel intended for this purpose.

It is not necessary that differential and magnetothermal be installed together, being able to install, in different rows of the own existing table if with this we avoiding to install the surface table.

The differential will always be connected to the neutral, but it will also have the seatrifasic magnetothermal, so we ensure that in the event of an electric leakage, the trip of the differential occurs. (*)

It is important to connect the earth conductor to the terminal of the equipment box marked with the earth symbol.

It is important to label the protections of the equipment, using appropriate labels, we should never use pens, pens or similar to make the labeling.

Getting Started

Before connecting the equipment to the mains, check that all the connections that have been made are well and then;

  • Close the mains power switch.
  • Check that the operation of the equipment is correct.

Location

As a general rule, the location of the saver should be made as close to the general layout of the installation, placing both the equipment and the accessory elements (registration box and surface panel), preferably for the sake of space utilization and aesthetics, at the top / bottom of this. If this location is not possible, the site will be searched for, always trying to maintain a consonance with the nearby elements. For the equipment and accessories the small material supplied: screws, washers, flanges, etc. will be used.

It is extremely important to realize a well executed installation, mounting the equipment and all accessories within the best aesthetics and in uniformity with the facilities nearby.

It is advisable to keep the equipment away from heat sources and to keep it well ventilated.

Performance and considerations

The equipment may not obtain a good performance of operation if the desired cosphi is reached, this can be due to an anomaly in the equipment and in that case contact Green Corporate Energy.

Preventive maintenance

Green Corporate Energy recommends that a qualified technician perform the following checks every 12 months.

  • Inspect the equipment for mechanical and functional damage or deterioration of all its components.
  • Inspect the tightening of the connection terminals.
  • Inspection of the state of the mechanisms of the equipment.
  • Inspect the relevant safety labels for readability.
  • Inspection of equipment performance (consumptions, …) for verification of correct operation.
